Songs From the New North
Living the Alaska Life is a 40-minute multi-media performance of songs and photographic images depicting real life in Alaska, including dog mushers on the Iditarod trail, women building cabins, Eskimo whale hunters on the Arctic Ocean, and lovers on the Yukon River. Living The Alaska Life has been performed for Alaskan visitors at conventions and on cruise ships since 1987 and is highly professional, down-to-earth, and as educational as it is entertaining.
Teri Tibbett has lived in Alaska for over three decades and has visited every corner of the state, as an itinerant musician, teacher, writer, and photographer. She has written songs and picked up other peoples' songs that describe the rich variety of lifestyles present today in the 49th state. Her CD, Living The Alaska Life: Songs from the New North features music from the show and is a wide-seller. Many audience members remember her grandfather, Lawrence Tibbett, the Metropolitan Opera star of the 30s and 40s.
Living The Alaska Life has been performed for international audiences aboard Cunard Cruise Lines, Radisson Seven Seas, Crystal Cruises, Costa Cruises, World Explorer Cruises, Linblad Expeditions, Alaska Sightseeing & Cruise West, Alaska State Chamber of Commerce and Alaska USA Federal Credit Union conventions.
